Oppocrash update:  The Aerio is officially dead - will not be repaired

I got a day or two ago... the Aerio will be written off. And today I got a call from the insurance for the settlement amount. The offer was sufficient that I’m basically breaking even.

I spent about $2900 buying, fixing some things, certifying and doing some minor maintenance items... and the insurance is giving me just slightly under that.

And the insurance will cover my rental until Monday.  Might have to extend the rental time by a week if I don’t find a suitable replacement this weekend.

Look into a CVPI. Used, easy to refurbish, and tough. Shit for MPG, though.

I would also consider another Focus, an HHR, PTCruiser and others.  Looking for a 4 door hatch or wagon with a manual... though I would consider a 2010+ Prius as well.
